Phil and the band return to this fabled venue, to kick off another full night of music!

Following up our packed show at Arlene's Grocery, we have THREE new songs to share with you all (including the feature debut of Leyla, the one BJ vocalist who has NOT yet had her solo spot!)

THE RED LION is known for booking top music acts, and has been a landmark venue in the Village for years. Hell, it's on Bleecker St-- you don't get much more music-i-er than that!

Phil presents his songs-- and life-story-- at the 'Celebrating the Mythic Life' conference!

LIVING YOUR BLISS: Songs Inspired by Joseph Campbell is the culmination of Phil's many years of songwriting, and many years of engagement with the works of famed mythologist, Joseph Campbell. During that time, Phil's work-- and life-- have benefited immeasurably from the inspiring insights offered by Campbell. Using his own deeply resonant songs such as Leaving Home, Wasteland, and Through The Middle, as well as fun songs like Transcendental Cowboy, Phil will present an intimate case-study showing how Campbell's influence has been of enormous benefit to his own creativity and to his life as an artist.

Phil and The Bliss Jockeys share the stage with the Julia Barry and Elena Giordano bands-- Each act turns in a 50-minute set for three full hours of music!

Hmmmm.... we've heard all kinds of crazy things about The Delancey. Some other bands say it's the 'classiest joint' they've ever played. Some say that after hours, there are all kinds of seedy sex parties going on the basement. Even others have been seen to imbibe mysterious illicit substances on the Delancey's rooftop patio.

Whatever the truth may be, one things for sure: By the time Phil and band are done, all in attendance will be thoroughly BLISSED OUT! And if there's any vestige of sanity left in you... then Julia's and Elena's bands will be sure to rock you into oblivion! Join us for one final, music-filled night of Phil leading the monthly spiritual discussion group at Ciao Stella, our cozy home in NYC's West Village. The NY Mythology Group is recognized as the official NY RoundTable of the Joseph Campbell Foundation, and has been a warm gathering spot for hundreds of questing New Yorkers for over five years now.

Phil has decided to retire from the group and leave it to his successors, in order to 'Follow His Bliss' and focus on musical touring. And so we'll celebrate with him one last time with a night of his original music, and some communal story-telling!!

Phil will play his original songs throughout the night, and in-between, everyone in attendance is invited to tell their own story of how they 'Follow Their Bliss'...!!    We hope to see you there for this bittersweet closing of a very beautiful five-year chapter of Phil's life.

In fact, this exciting night is the first headlining gig in NY for either of them!

Look for original songs by both Phil and Jason throughout their shared set. The duo will trade-off on lead vocals as the night goes on, and each's songs have been expanded into new two-person arrangements for the two of them.
